Magneto-optical Effects

Magneto-Optical Effects is a physical phenomenon in the optical properties of solids wherein the interaction of light with matter is modulated by an external magnetic field, distinguished from other optical effects by its dependence on the Zeeman splitting of energy levels and the resulting changes in the refractive index or absorption characteristics of the material.
