Magnetic Data Reduction
Magnetic Data Reduction is a systematic computational and analytical procedure within geophysical data processing that transforms raw magnetic field measurements into standardized, corrected values by removing extraneous influences such as diurnal variations, instrument drift, and regional gradients, thereby isolating the local crustal magnetic anomalies of interest.
