Macromolecular Aggregation

Macromolecular Aggregation is the process by which large biological molecules, such as proteins or nucleic acids, undergo abnormal association into structurally ordered or disordered supramolecular assemblies, distinguishing it from other forms of molecular interaction through its propensity to form insoluble, often pathogenic aggregates associated with cellular dysfunction in the context of aging.
