Linear Zeeman Effect

The Linear Zeeman Effect is a spectroscopic phenomenon in atomic physics wherein the degeneracy of atomic energy levels is lifted by an external magnetic field, with energy shifts proportional to the magnetic quantum number and the field strength, observed under conditions where the Zeeman splitting is small compared to fine structure splitting.
