Ligand Field Analysis

Ligand Field Analysis is a theoretical framework used in organometallic and X-ray spectroscopy that describes the electronic structure of transition metal complexes by analyzing the splitting of d-orbital energies due to ligand-induced electrostatic fields, thereby enabling the interpretation of spectral data in terms of coordination geometry, oxidation state, and ligand identity.
