Leaf Primordium Initiation

Leaf Primordium Initiation is a developmental process in plant morphogenesis whereby localized cell divisions and tissue differentiation at the flanks of the shoot apical meristem give rise to a new leaf primordium, distinguishing it from other meristem-derived structures by its precise spatiotemporal activation of adaxial-abaxial polarity and auxin-dependent patterning.
