Leaf Nitrogen Assimilation

Leaf Nitrogen Assimilation is a physiological process in which inorganic nitrogen, primarily in the form of nitrate or ammonium, is taken up by plant leaves and biochemically converted into organic nitrogen compounds such as amino acids, distinguishing it from root-based nitrogen assimilation by occurring directly within foliar tissues.
