Launch-on-warning Doctrine
Launch-On-Warning Doctrine is a strategic nuclear posture whereby the decision to execute a retaliatory missile launch is predicated on early-warning indications of an incoming attack, rather than requiring confirmation of actual impact, thereby distinguishing it from other launch policies such as launch-after-impact or preemption.
