About

Latent variable methods is a class of statistical techniques used to model the relationships between observed (manifest) variables and unobserved (latent) constructs or factors. These methods enable researchers to infer the properties of theoretical concepts that cannot be directly measured by analyzing the patterns of covariance among a set of measurable indicators, thereby facilitating the study of complex, abstract phenomena across various disciplines.
