Larson-penston Collapse

Larson-Penston Collapse is a self-similar hydrodynamic solution describing the spherically symmetric, adiabatic collapse of an isothermal gas sphere under gravity, distinguished by its allowance of supersonic inflow velocities and its prediction of a finite-time singularity preceding the formation of a hydrostatic core in star-forming regions.
