Land-based Aesthetics

Land-Based Aesthetics is a theoretical framework within Indigenous Visual Culture that centers Indigenous epistemologies by grounding artistic practice, form, and meaning in the reciprocal relationships between Indigenous peoples and their ancestral lands, distinguishing it from other aesthetic frameworks through its ontological commitment to land as teacher, archive, and source of visual knowledge.
