L-s Coupling
L-S Coupling is a quantum mechanical coupling scheme within atomic physics in which the orbital angular momenta of individual electrons are first coupled to form a total orbital angular momentum L, and their spin angular momenta are coupled to form a total spin angular momentum S, with L and S then coupled together to form the total angular momentum J of the atom.
