Kettle Lakes is a glacial landform characterized by a depression formed by the melting of a detached mass of glacier ice stranded in glacial deposits, subsequently filled with water, distinguishing it from other glacial lakes by its origin in isolated ice blocks rather than glacial erosion or moraine damming.
