Jones Polynomial

The Jones Polynomial is a Laurent polynomial invariant of oriented knots and links in the variable \( t^{1/2} \) that assigns to each knot or link a quantity preserved under ambient isotopy, distinguished from other knot polynomials by its skein relation and its derivation from representations of the braid group into the Temperley–Lieb algebra.
