J-holomorphic Curves

J-Holomorphic Curves is a mathematical construct in symplectic geometry defined as a smooth map from a Riemann surface into a symplectic manifold equipped with an almost complex structure \( J \) that satisfies the Cauchy-Riemann-type equation \( du + J \circ du \circ j = 0 \), where \( j \) is the complex structure on the domain, distinguishing it as a pseudoholomorphic representative of a homology class.
