Iwan Plan

Iwan Plan is an architectural layout in Islamic architecture characterized by a rectangular hall vaulted at one end and open at the other, typically oriented axially around a central courtyard with one or more iwans facing it, thereby distinguishing it from other courtyard-based plans by its emphasis on axial symmetry and vaulted open-ended halls.
