Inverse Elasticity

Inverse Elasticity is an inverse problem framework within continuum mechanics that seeks to determine the spatial distribution of elastic material properties, such as Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio, from observed displacement fields or boundary measurements, thereby distinguishing it from forward elasticity analyses that predict deformations given known material parameters.
