Interstellar Emission Lines

Interstellar Emission Lines is a spectroscopic phenomenon consisting of discrete wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation emitted by ions, atoms, or molecules in the interstellar medium as they transition from higher to lower energy states, distinguishing it from absorption or continuum processes by its origin in spontaneous radiative transitions within low-density cosmic gases.
