Internal Setup Separation

Internal Setup Separation is a methodological construct in operations management that distinguishes and reclassifies setup activities performed during equipment downtime by isolating those requiring the production process to be halted (internal) from those that can be executed while the process continues (external), thereby enabling targeted reduction of non-value-added time.
