Intercalation Synthesis

Intercalation Synthesis is a synthetic method in solid-state chemistry whereby guest species are reversibly inserted into the layered host lattice of a precursor material through diffusion-driven processes, distinguished from other solid-state reactions by its reliance on pre-existing structural anisotropy and non-destructive framework expansion.
