Instrumental Line Spread Function
The Instrumental Line Spread Function is a spectral response function that characterizes the finite resolution of an ultraviolet spectroscopic instrument by describing the distribution of measured intensity as a function of wavelength deviation from a monochromatic input line, thereby distinguishing it from other broadening mechanisms through its intrinsic dependence on the instrument's optical and detection characteristics.
