Inertial Currents

Inertial Currents is an oceanographic phenomenon characterized by the oscillatory motion of water parcels in the surface mixed layer driven by the balance between the Coriolis force and inertial acceleration following wind cessation, distinguished from other wind-driven currents by its free decay dynamics in the absence of active wind stress.
