Implicit Monte Carlo is a Monte Carlo transport method that belongs to the class of stochastic simulation techniques for solving radiative transfer equations, distinguished by its use of implicit discretization schemes to mitigate computational inefficiencies associated with highly scattering or optically thick media through the introduction of effective scattering and survival probabilities.
