Illness Acceptance

Illness Acceptance is a psychological construct denoting the extent to which an individual acknowledges and comes to terms with the reality of a chronic illness, distinguishing itself from related illness perceptions by emphasizing emotional and cognitive integration of the illness into one’s life narrative rather than merely appraising its controllability, timeline, or consequences.
