Illite Solubilization

Illite Solubilization is a microbial-driven biogeochemical process in which potassium-solubilizing microorganisms facilitate the release of potassium from illite, a stable phyllosilicate mineral, through mechanisms such as acidolysis, chelation, and ion exchange, thereby enhancing potassium bioavailability in soil systems.
