Hydrodynamic Slugging

Hydrodynamic Slugging is a transient multiphase flow regime in which coherent liquid slugs, formed by the hydrodynamic instability of the liquid film at the pipe wall due to interfacial shear and wave growth, propagate intermittently along with gas pockets through a pipeline, distinguishing it from other slug types by its intrinsic dependence on dynamic phase interactions rather than terrain-induced accumulation.
