Hinge Fracture Formation

Hinge Fracture Formation is a type of conchoidal fracture termination in lithic flake production characterized by an abrupt cessation of crack propagation at the flake's lateral margin, resulting in a rounded, thick distal end where the flake fails to detach completely from the core, distinguishing it from other termination types such as step, feather, or overshot terminations.
