Heterogeneous Nucleation

Heterogeneous Nucleation is a thermodynamic process in which a phase transition, such as condensation or solidification, initiates at a lower energy barrier due to the presence of a foreign surface or impurity, thereby distinguishing it from homogeneous nucleation by enabling nucleation to occur preferentially at interfaces, aerosol particles, or substrates within the system.
