Hashtag Formation
Hashtag Formation is a linguistic practice in informal digital writing whereby users create metadata tags by prefixing a word or concatenated phrase with the hash symbol (#) to categorize content or convey stance, distinguishable from other tagging systems by its syntactic fusion and socio-communicative function within social media discourse.
