Hard Target Attack is a military strike strategy within counterforce doctrine that specifically targets an adversary’s hardened and well-defended assets, such as nuclear missile silos, command bunkers, or submarine pens, distinguished from softer infrastructure by their high physical resilience and strategic value in withstanding and retaliating from initial attacks.
