Gutzwiller Approximation

The Gutzwiller Approximation is a variational method in strongly correlated electron systems that projects out certain many-body configurations to account for electron correlation effects, distinguished by its use of a Gutzwiller wavefunction with a tunable parameter to suppress double occupancy while preserving the itinerancy of electrons.
