Graft Contraction is a biological phenomenon in cutaneous wound healing whereby a skin graft undergoes progressive reduction in surface area due to the activation and remodeling of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts within the graft and recipient bed, distinguished from other forms of tissue retraction by its intrinsic dependence on graft viability and host integration.
