Germ Layer Internalization

Germ Layer Internalization is a developmental process in vertebrate embryogenesis whereby the three primary germ layers—ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm—are formed through the inward migration and spatial reorganization of epithelial cells during gastrulation, distinguishing it from superficial morphogenetic movements by establishing the embryonic body plan’s internal tissue architecture.
