Gas Speciation

Gas speciation is a geochemical analytical method that identifies and quantifies the distinct chemical forms of volatile components—such as H₂O, CO₂, SO₂, and H₂S—present in volcanic gases, thereby distinguishing their molecular and ionic constituents to elucidate magmatic processes and degassing mechanisms.
