Gap Acceptance Analysis

Gap Acceptance Analysis is a traffic engineering method used in Level of Service Analysis to determine the minimum time interval (gap) in conflicting traffic streams that a driver is willing to accept when executing a maneuver, thereby distinguishing it from broader capacity or delay assessment techniques by focusing specifically on behavioral and operational thresholds in unsignalized intersection analysis.
