Gametophytic Self-incompatibility
Gametophytic Self-Incompatibility is a genetic self-recognition mechanism in flowering plants, categorized as a mating system barrier, in which the haploid pollen genotype determines the incompatibility reaction, preventing self-fertilization by inhibiting pollen tube growth when the pollen shares specificity with the diploid pistil.
