Futility Judgments

Futility Judgment is a clinical-ethical assessment in neonatal intensive care that identifies a medical intervention as physiologically ineffective or medically inappropriate due to the absence of a reasonable likelihood of achieving established treatment goals, thereby distinguishing it from other decision-making frameworks by its focus on the biological feasibility and expected clinical outcomes of life-sustaining therapies.
