Function-behavior-structure Modeling
Function-Behavior-Structure Modeling is a representational framework in design theory that formally characterizes a system as a triplet of function (what the system is intended to achieve), behavior (the observed responses or actions under conditions), and structure (the physical or conceptual components and their interrelations), distinguishing it from other design models by its explicit ontological separation and mapping among these three aspects.
