Freight Activity-based Modeling

Freight Activity-Based Modeling is a freight demand modeling approach that belongs to the class of microsimulation-based transportation models and is distinguished by its explicit representation of freight-related activities and decisions—such as shipment generation, consolidation, mode and route choice—at the level of individual agents or firms, thereby capturing the underlying behavioral mechanisms driving urban and regional freight movements.
