Freeze-out Processes

Freeze-Out Processes is a physicochemical phenomenon in interstellar chemistry wherein gas-phase molecules or atoms adhere to dust grain surfaces and become immobilized due to low temperatures, distinguishing it from other gas-grain interactions by its dominance in cold, dense molecular clouds where thermal desorption is negligible.
