Foreign Law Reference Back

Foreign Law Reference Back is a legal doctrine within conflict of laws whereby a domestic court, when referred by its own conflict rules to the law of a foreign jurisdiction, recognizes and applies that foreign jurisdiction’s choice-of-law rules, potentially leading to the reapplication of the original domestic law or another system, thereby creating a recursive reference.
