Flow Over Cliffs

Flow Over Cliffs is a specialized aerodynamic phenomenon within microscale meteorology that describes the distinct pattern of wind flow disruption, acceleration, and separation occurring when atmospheric boundary layer winds encounter abrupt terrain elevation changes such as cliff faces, distinguished from other terrain-induced flows by the presence of sharp-edged topographic obstacles causing sudden flow ascent, recirculation zones, and lee-side turbulence.
