Floodplain Roughness Estimation

Floodplain Roughness Estimation is a methodological construct in hydraulic and hydrological modeling that quantifies the resistance to overland flow within floodplain environments by characterizing surface irregularities and vegetative cover, distinguishing it from channel roughness estimation by its focus on low-gradient, intermittently inundated floodplain topography and land cover heterogeneity.
