Firn Storage

Firn Storage is a glaciological storage mechanism that refers to the retention of meltwater within the porous, partially compacted snow layers (firn) of a glacier, distinguishing it from other glacier water storage forms by its reliance on the firn's capacity for liquid water retention through refreezing or percolation impedance.
