Financial Provisioning
Financial Provisioning is a financial mechanism within the domain of environmental and project finance that establishes dedicated, legally binding reserves or instruments to ensure sufficient funds are available for the safe and compliant closure and post-closure care of industrial facilities or hazardous sites, thereby distinguishing it from general budgetary allocations by its specificity, enforceability, and purpose of mitigating long-term environmental liabilities.
