Expander Cycle is a type of closed-cycle liquid rocket engine propulsion system in which the fuel is heated by the engine's regenerative cooling arrangement to drive a turbine that powers the propellant pumps, distinguishing it from other cycles by utilizing waste heat from the chamber and nozzle walls as the energy source for turbine operation.
