Excise Tax Sharing

Excise Tax Sharing is a fiscal mechanism within intergovernmental revenue systems whereby a portion of excise taxes collected by one level of government is allocated or transferred to another level, distinguishing it from other forms of tax revenue distribution by its specific linkage to excise duties rather than to general tax pools or other tax types.
