Equivalent Source Modeling

Equivalent Source Modeling is a computational method in potential field interpretation that approximates the observed geophysical field by a distribution of discrete source elements, distinguished from other modeling approaches by its ability to represent complex geological structures through an equivalent set of point masses, dipoles, or other basis functions located within or beneath the measurement surface.
