Epithelial Sheet Deformation

Epithelial Sheet Deformation is a morphogenetic process in which an epithelial sheet undergoes coordinated changes in shape and curvature through spatially regulated cellular behaviors such as apical constriction, cell intercalation, or differential proliferation, distinguishing it from other forms of tissue remodeling by its reliance on collective mechanical forces and cell polarity within a contiguous epithelial layer.
