Entropy-enthalpy Compensation

Entropy–Enthalpy Compensation is a thermodynamic phenomenon in which changes in enthalpy and entropy during protein–ligand binding processes are linearly correlated, such that favorable gains in one are partially offset by unfavorable shifts in the other, thereby minimizing the overall change in binding free energy.
